Sports News

The children at Wren’s Nest enjoy representing their school in numerous sporting events. They work hard to achieve their best and thoroughly enjoy taking part as well as contributing towards our Platinum Sports Award.

Our Sports Leaders

Gymnastics

Pupils from Wren’s Nest took part in the Dudley Gymnastics competition on Thursday 3rd April. There was a lot of jumping, cartwheeling and bending! Their performances were outstanding and they looked fabulous in their new leotards. Well done team!

Cross Country

12 of our Year 4, 5 and 6 children entered Dudley’s Cross Country Competition. It is a huge competition with over 400 pupils and 40 schools taking part.

It was a beautiful sunny day in March, we arrived at The Summerhill School to see 4 long fields stretched out in front of us. The Cross Country team’s job was to go around each of these fields 3 times to complete the 2.5km long course.

All our athletes ran really well and we are so very proud of them. Overall, our Wren’s Nest team came 20th out of 40. The girls came 10th and the boys came 25th.  Well done team!

Girls’ Football

We want to share our heartfelt congratulations to our girls’ football team for their outstanding effort in the tournament at Dudley College! They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the event. It was an incredible experience and we are so proud of how they represented Wren’s Nest. Keep up the great work, ladies!

Netball

On the 13th March, Wrens Nest played against Christ Church. It was an extremely close match but our Wrens Nest grit and determination got us through and Wrens Nest won 3-2. We played four quarters and in the first quarter the score remained at 0-0 with both teams playing well and finding their feet. In the second quarter, we found our confidence and Crystal scored the first goal for Wrens Nest. This followed into the third quarter where Wrens Nest scored two goals and Christ Church scored two goals. We held our heads high and carried on. In the last quarter, we managed to defend and prevent any goals from the opposing team. Wrens Nest demonstrated high levels of sportsmanship all the way through the match and congratulated the other team for their efforts.
